Yes, a college degree in the long run is valuable but cash upfront is king.

People bristle at college players referred to as “labor,” but NCAA knew it was a labor force from beginning & thus coined term “student-athlete” to create the amateurism scam in order to avoid paying disability.

We know bc 1st NCAA exec dir Walter Byers wrote about it w regret.

Just last week critics told me we overrated Arch Manning bc of his name.

This is why I take pride in our thorough, unbiased scouting team. We’ll have misses & miscalculations, but I believe being process-oriented & aiming for accuracy over clicks equals success in the long run.

Really fascinating read. Did not realize that the star system was based around pro projection as much as college projection.

I have so much respect for Ryan D Leaf. Through all the hardships it would’ve been easy for him to give up, but instead he is bettering the lives of others every single day.

A few thoughts for anonymous coach ⤵️
1. Don’t pay if a player isn’t worth it or collective doesn’t have $
2. Players & agents have a right to explore the market. It’s free agency!
3. Complaining to the media is a waste. Tell your AD to push for rev sharing & multiyear contracts

I get why fans want Cal out but be careful what you wish for. Cal staying in SEC is terrible for UK. Cal will collect talent & instantly make Ark a contender. SEC already has Auburn & UT challenging for supremacy. Beard, Oats, Paris, Golden & Byington have chops to be there soon.
