Over the past ten years, NaCORI has proven itself to be a beacon of research excellence, a hub of innovation, and a catalyst for the growth and development of our nation’s coffee and cocoa industries.

Government of Uganda has over the years been running a strategic intervention to significantly increase coffee pdn as part of its broader vision to transform the agricultural sector and drive economic growth.

Recognizing coffee as one of the country’s most valuable export commodities, the government has implemented a series of initiatives aimed at boosting production from the current 6 million 60kg bags to 20 million bags by 2030.

Efforts include the promotion of high-yielding & disease-resistant coffee where National Coffee Research Institute Uganda (NaCORI) has played a pivotal role in the expansion of coffee cultivation into non-traditional growing areas, & provision of training and resources to farmers to improve agronomic practices

The first cohort of beneficiaries under the UCDA & EU in Uganda Coffee/Cocoa Value Chains Dev't Project-COCODEV is getting hands-on training at National Coffee Research Institute Uganda (NaCORI), Mukono. This project will support commercial farmers to establish coffee & cocoa farms of 10-50 acres to boost production.

This is how a mature KR10 looks like. It's high yielding, has bigger beans & is ever green just like KR3. I'll share more about KR8&9 soon. KR8: This is how it looks at maturity. It's known for uniform ripening in addition to other features of CWD-r varieties (high yielding, resistant to CWD, big bean size, good cup quality etc).
