On the 100th anniversary of Detective Sergeant Bernardino Grottano’s passing, family and community members paid tribute to the fallen hero who helped keep NYC safe. Two of his great-great nephews, Officers Desena and Grottano, were among those present at this solemn event.

When a man was found unconscious and unresponsive inside the subway station, Officers Davis and Alfaro from NYPD Chief of Transit immediately recognized the signs of a drug overdose. Equipped with Narcan, they administered two dosages and successfully revived and saved the man’s life.

Last week at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Police Week, Law Enforcement Officers from across the nation stood in solidarity, paying tribute to those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. Recently, our team took part in a citywide operation to address illegal mopeds that are unregistered and unlicensed due to a rise in crimes utilizing these vehicles.

With the help of our partners, 182 illegal mopeds were taken off our city streets.
