Nobody should have to go hungry in the Big Apple, and NY Common Pantry’s programs are a critical lifeline for New Yorkers experiencing food insecurity.

Today, I joined Yusef Abdus Salaam to tour their facility and discuss how New York City Council can continue to support this vital work.

This week, we sadly lost the legendary , a pioneer in the industry from Brooklyn who was Big Daddy Kane’s DJ and helped discover The Notorious B.I.G.

New Yorkers will always remember his work on HOT 97 and his enduring legacy.

Rest in power, Mister Cee.

Cane River has been one of my favorite books since it was published in 2001, and its narrative of Black women overcoming adversity in 19th Century America reverberates just as strongly today.

New York City Council remains committed to restoring cuts to NYC Libraries in the city budget!

reminds us of the inequities in maternal health outcomes that disproportionately affect Black women and birthing people.

To confront these stark inequities, we must continue to advance progress through critical investments & policy solutions.
