I sat down with students at the NYU Stern Health Conference to talk about the strategic vision behind our #HealthyNYC plan to increase life expectancy and how my personal experiences with family members struggling with mental health issues has informed my public health career.

Though it may seem simple, botulinum toxin injections are a medical procedure. New Yorkers should not be getting injections from friends or at parties, and they should not be getting them from non-medical professionals such as beauticians or aestheticians.

The decline in American life expectancy is an issue that extends beyond health—it affects our economy too. #HealthyNYC serves as a model for other cities/states, demonstrating the importance of a holistic approach to tackle the root causes of this crisis: latimes.com/opinion/story/…
