Another hot day is in store for South Texas today with highs ranging from the mid 80s along the coast to near 105 over the Rio Grande Plains. A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the western zones through this evening for heat index values 110 degrees or higher.

It will be hot across area beaches today with a low risk of rip currents. Air & water temps will be in the mid 80s under a moderate SE wind. Remember, a low risk doesn't mean no risk. Dangerous swimming conditions are still possible especially near piers and jetties.

The heat will continue to build as we enter next week with heat index values around 110-114°F by Tuesday. This will likely continue through the end of the work week leading to heat stress conditions. This also may warrant an Excessive Heat Warning at some point.
