The Nuy Winery Legacy Calcareo 2024 has earned an accolade at the latest Gilbert & Gaillard International Wine Challenge. Founded 35 years ago in France, this competition judges wines in different countries of origin on a quarterly basis. 🧵 1/5

The panel awarded the 2024 vintage of this 100% Chenin Blanc a gold medal and 89 points. They praised its ageing potential to be enjoyed through 2029 and noted its aromas of vanilla, stone fruit, grenedella, white peach, and lingering aftertaste of waxy dried pineapple. 🧵 2/5

Nuy's cellar master, Christo Basson, says: "The Calcareo, part of our flagship Legacy range, owes its name to the Latin word for the chalky terroir in which the vines grow. We aimed to preserve the fresh fruitiness and distinctive chalky minerality that our soil imparts." 🧵 3/5
