Today is #YHMD2024 . NT Shelter joined Anglicare-NT and City of Darwin at the annual Couch Surfing Event.

On average there are 3000 young people aged 12- 25 years experiencing homelessness in the Northern Territory on any given night. That's enough to fill 75 school buses!

Tomorrow is Youth Homelessness Matters Day. Our team will be joining Anglicare-NT & City of Darwin for the annual couch surfing at Civic Park. Come see us for a cool drink & info on local homelessness supports. Did you know almost 50% of the NT's homeless population are under 25?

The Aboriginal Housing & Homelands Conf kicks off this morning in Mparntwe Alice Springs. CEO of AHNT Skye Thompson “Our homelands are more than just a unit of land to be measured, they provide us with opportunities across our lifetimes and they are where we will be buried.”
