Step inside the exhibition's recording booth to tell us about your treasured toys, games, and outfits. Listen to the previous recording before making yours, but each new recording will replace the last- a tale for one pair of ears only 🥰 #FashionFortnight 📸NT / Steve Haywood

#FashionFortnight Girl Guiding has a long association with Killerton - Eleanor Acland was a District Commissioner for the Guides in the 1920s, the Guides camped in the park just after WW1, and Brownies and Guides still take part in lots of outdoor activities today. (1/2)

Local Brownies and Guides from Broadclyst and Cranbrook have been helping us create this year's exhibition. The Brownie uniform is one of this year's most popular displays. Do you recognise this 1970s uniform or did you wear another version? Let us know! 📸NT /S Haywood (2/2)

If you mention the phrase "cream tea" to our social media team, you'll send them running... we're still recovering from the last time we posted about one, so however you have yours, we wish you a happy National Cream Tea Day - we're staying out of it! 📷 NTI / William Shaw

Fascinating the things you learn… it turns out there used to be a secret door here that led into a hidden passageway, that ran along the length of the dining room and into what is now the Kitchen Cafe. So it seems they retained part of the door and turned it into a cupboard! 🤯

#FashionFortnight Functional and fashionable, buttons did more than fasten coats. They told people who you were; Naval cadet suits fastened with regulation buttons, bearing the crest of the Royal Navy. Recently, Naval cadet suits focus on formal and practical clothing. (1/3)

The wool cloth cadet suit dates from about 1929. It was made for Michael Patrick Pollock (1916-2006) when he was 13. He joined the Royal Naval College Dartmouth as a cadet aboard the training cruiser Frobisher before joining the battleship Nelson as a midshipman. (2/3)

Michael served during WW2 and became Commander of the Ark Royal. As First Sea Lord he was knighted and became Admiral of the Fleet in 1974. Would you wear the old or modern naval cadet suits? These children’s sailor suits were fashionable for nearly 100 years. 📸 Noah V (3/3)

The school holidays are in full flow, but we’re already thinking about back to school plans. School uniforms of the past were a formal affair, like this 1930s boy’s tweed suit and 1920s girl's wool gymslip. Smart and durable, or casual and easy-care: what do you prefer? 📸NT
