Something special for #MosaicMonday ... A one hundred year old photograph of the Grand Dining Room mosaic at Chedworth Roman Villa.

The image was used in the National Trust's appeal to preserve the Villa for the nation.

This year, Chedworth Roman Villa is celebrating 100 years of being part of the National Trust and 160 years since being rediscovered.

Back in 1984 there was also a celebration. Check our these wonderful designs...

Our mascot 'Winter' gazing out over the mosaic that inspired his creation. He holds a leafless branch and a hare and wears a thick hooded cloak in the local style, called a birrus britannicus.

History came alive for our Year 3 pupils during their trip to Chedworth Roman Villa.

Our pupils learned about the history of the site and enjoyed a hands-on mosaic-making workshop. 

Their creations are testament to a fantastic learning experience.
