🏝️ In Micronesia, exceptional drought continued in Yap State, severe to extreme drought continued in the Marianas, and moderate to extreme drought continued in the Marshall Islands.

☔ Wet weather on the windward sides of HI continued this week, while leeward sides remained drier. Due to recent rainfall, parts of west Maui saw reductions in coverage of moderate drought and abnormal dryness.

🥵Temperatures in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia ranged from 6 to 12 degrees above normal. No drought areas affected the Northeast this week.

🌡️ Streamflows and soil moisture improved as a result of heavy rainfall in many areas of the Midwest. It was hotter than normal in the region, with IN and OH seeing weekly temperature anomalies ranging 6 to 12 degrees above normal.

🌾 In eastern parts of KS, NE and ND, heavy rains continued the recent wet pattern, leading to improvements in ongoing drought and abnormal dryness. However, flash drought conditions in western & central KS severely impacted wheat crops.

💦 In Arkansas and central and eastern Oklahoma, recent showers and thunderstorms continued to improve precipitation deficits, streamflow and soil moisture.

🌦️ Scattered heavier rains fell across portions of the Carolinas and Virginia, though most areas in the Southeast were dry. Temperature-wise, most of the Southeast was between 3 and 9 degrees warmer than normal this week.

🥶 Heavy precipitation fell in parts of Montana, California, Oregon, and Washington, but dryness continued in parts of western Washington where drought expanded. Most of the West was also colder than normal this week.
