Great talk today in our Colloquium by U. of Arizona (University of Arizona Geosciences) post-doc Dr. Clay Cambell, sharing the results of his work on the tectonics of Turkey from 100 Ma to the Quaternary. Double subduction! Lithospheric drips! Detrital zircons! Hafnium isotopes! Thanks for the visit.

What are your favorite geology auto-correct fails? Here are my top 3: Mafic->Magic. Lots of magic rocks out there. Footwall->Footwall. There's significant football deformation. And Diapir->Diaper. Gotta watch out for those salt diapers! Do you have any others?
