Playing and set up not to loose ?

That first half team when in possession was not set set up to get the best and in fact nullified the attributes of Isak and wirtz and Gakpo. And salah second half

The question I haven’t seen asked or answered is what exactly was Mo trying to accomplish? Meaning was it purposeful vs just emotional; if so for what ? Simply to start again? To help the team? To help the manager ? To get him removed? If there was no purpose then it was just ego

Curtis Jones is really invaluable. Not glam. But. Can hold. Recycle. Cover the full back - brings what every team needs

I assume this midfield/two 9s was not the plan; assuming 4 back what setup will compete for a title next year ? Isak can’t play in a 2, needs wide players/space to move CBs around/run in behind/onto crosses no? So need 2 wingers now & a true 6 to make us 3-5-2 in possession ?

Best thing about today aside from Ekitike’s form was the work & fight & desire to back each other up. Jones and Szobo both MOTM worthy. Alisson top form. Back four better. Kerkez coming along. Isak fitness is a worry as is right back. We need a week off. Dressing room not lost.

If, and maybe it’s a biggish if, but if Salah returns after Afcon and plays like that or better and we claw our way back to top 4, then maybe just maybe Slot has smartly managed something very unexpected a few days ago and maybe something very positive to the season’s outcome.

Do like the structure and approach and set-up out of possession, just need to up the pace and tempo and move them around quicker.

Lack of pace and speed - in both ball and player movement - is our biggest issue right now. All way too pedestrian.

What was apparent today. We have no players (save maybe wirtz in bits) that scares the opposition. That they have to plan for & around. Th can produce rabbits out of hats. That when they have the ball or are in space the other support gasp and pray. No one. No talisman to go to.

I’d be surprised if we followed suit & sacked Slot mid-season; think they give him the season to make top 4 without disruption of sacking/interim/search. But then it’s v binary. No top 4 he’s gone. Make top 4 he gets one more year after serious dissection & then short leash.
