It was my privilege to make this public pledge of support to the armed forces community. Signing the covenant affirms the NHS’s commitment to the people who serve, veterans and their families that we will strive to ensure they get what they need from our NHS.

We were delighted to support bringing this event together. NHS England now joins all NHS trusts in England in having signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

Professor Briggs, CBE, wrote the Chavasse Report highlighting unwarranted variation in veteran healthcare. The report is named after Captain Noel Chavasse VC and Bar, MC  who's selfless and inspiring actions in WW1 ultimately cost him his own life. #NHSVeteranAware
