In praise of Surestart. Among other things our local centre got 1st son a play therapy package for family trauma when 2nd son was born 14 weeks early. And same for 2nd son soon after, when 1st son got leukaemia. Those people saved our souls again & again. Brilliant initiative.

Up to 90 press-ups so far today… was anxious as couldn’t bring mysef to do any before work today.

But have been stealthily doing them in the office throughout the day, 15-20 at a time.

Putting my coat on is rather a struggle, but definitely feeling better than yesterday.

Aware I might be a bit of an outlier on this - not many art grads become accountants - but my experience couldn’t be more different.

My arts degree helped enormously with my personal & professional life even though I ultimately didn’t pursue a career in the cultural sector.

I know some have strong views about the merits or otherwise of the offer, but such a relief that consultants accepted.

Further strikes would’ve been so damaging to our efforts to recover.

Now need to resolve outstanding issues with other doctors to avert risk of any strikes
