A great afternoon presenting all things @cdtwire, Newcastle and their water challenges, National Green Infrastructure Facility and our wonderful research, and all about my own PhD to the research group at Villanova

Our researchers had a productive visit to Heriot-Watt University this week. Thanks Dr Daniel Green for hosting us!

This Saturday, Dr Stirling presented the UKCRIC NGIF at the WEA Green branch's 11th Back to the Land conference alongside Tyne Rivers Trust and Chi Onwurah 💙 MP, Shadow Minister for Science Research & Innovation Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) Engineering at Newcastle Such passion for our local green spaces🌳

Many thanks to the RECLAIM Network+. It was great to present National Green Infrastructure Facility last week, inc. #PLEXUS, #CACTUS and #ACHILLES projects and how to work with us to gain further value from our growing datasets📊Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) Engineering at Newcastle UKCRIC

Three of our researchers are attending the 8th International Conference on Unsaturated Soils this week in Milos, participating in workshops, engaging in interesting conference sessions, and presenting their latest research conducted at NGIF. It was great to host Rebecca Lave along with alumni Eleanor Starkey to have a look around NGIF and help Rebecca learn about the potential of SuDS for flood risk management

We were very happy to support @merylbatchelder in this paper highlighting the benefits of school-university partnerships. Helping capture some of the amenity benefits of both Green Infrastructure and our living lab! mdpi.com/2337742 #mdpisustainability via Sustainability

It was a pleasure to welcome A-level offer holders to NGIF last week where they gained practical experience of infiltration testing as part of the Engineering at Newcastle PARTNERS Scheme, giving students an introduction to Civil and Geospatial Engineering courses at Newcastle.

NGIF and Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) PhD student, Emma McConnell, delivered a wonderful invited talk for the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) on field monitoring in Geomechanics. You can see her cracking work on #ACHILLES here: youtube.com/watch?v=j1pwdD…

Last week we hosted a tour from Newcastle’s School X 'Facing Up to Climate Change' MSc Module. Students saw how Green Infrastructure is at the front line in engineering our cities’ adaptation to climate change Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) Engineering at Newcastle #GreenInfrastructure #SuDS
