It was a pleasure to welcome A-level offer holders to NGIF last week where they gained practical experience of infiltration testing as part of the Engineering at Newcastle PARTNERS Scheme, giving students an introduction to Civil and Geospatial Engineering courses at Newcastle.

NGIF and Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) PhD student, Emma McConnell, delivered a wonderful invited talk for the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) on field monitoring in Geomechanics. Last week we hosted a tour from Newcastle’s School X 'Facing Up to Climate Change' MSc Module. Students saw how Green Infrastructure is at the front line in engineering our cities’ adaptation to climate change Geotechnics and Structures (GEST) Engineering at Newcastle #GreenInfrastructure #SuDS

Our researchers had the opportunity to attend #AGU23 to present their latest work, and to convene a session on 'Advances in Geotechnical Infrastructure Condition Assessment and Monitoring in a Changing Climate'. We look forward to the online poster session on the 25th of January!
