Drug user liberation is the radical idea that people who use drugs deserve autonomy, dignity, and respect. Harm reduction prioritizes human rights over punishment and empower people to make choices about their own bodies and health. It's critical we don't lose sight of that.

There are already people spending time in prison on trumped up charges related to exposing law enforcement to fentanyl. Three states are considering bills that would make it far easier to put people behind bars for this imaginary offense.

As we celebrate #TransDayOfVisibility , let's remember that visibility is not enough. We need action. We need solidarity. We need justice. NEXT is committed to fighting for a world where every person who uses drugs, across the gender spectrum, can live authentically without fear.

Trans folks are under attack- through transphobic violence, regressive legislation, AND the rollback of harm reduction. At Next, we can't just talk about solidarity- we live it. We fight to ensure that TGNC people who use drugs can access the resources they need to survive #TDOV

Today is #TransDayOfVisibility , but let's be so real: for black, brown, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming folks who use drugs, visibility often comes with a target on our backs. In a world that seeks to erase us, we refuse to be silenced. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Racism drives attempts to dismantle the efforts of Black and brown people who use drugs and are engaged in harm reduction. Radical acts of empathy and care are saving peoples lives- Often when there is no one else coming to help. The fight for harm reduction is intersectional.

Harm reduction is about dignity and equity. Gutting these services hits Black and brown communities hardest, fueling deaths when answers like safe supply and safe consumption sites could save so many.

Rolling back harm reduction services is a reckless move, deepening the overdose crisis. We need real solutions, not political posturing and legislators need to stop gambling with our lives. By withholding support for harm redux efforts they perpetuate harm and injustice.
