Wallsend Wildlife Patchwork Challenge Low-Carbon Birding NHSN Northumberland & Tyneside Bird Club Record shot, my arse Jack Bucknall Mike Carr Albert Ross Alan Curry Gossy early am, Grasshopper Warbler singing but hard to hear above wind (volume ⬆!); #112 on the green patch yearlist. Then a group of Canada Geese flew in, with a Barnacle Goose #113 among them, likely from Big Waters.

A day of bees, bugs and exciting discoveries! 🐝🔎

Made possible by the John Spedan Lewis Foundation, last week, we held the first trip as part of our new #NHSNFieldSkills programme. It looks like young naturalists had an amazing time exploring bees.

If you are in the North, now is a good time to see where the Wych Elm trees are in a wood - they are the ones that look lime green with masses of developing seeds (which taste of uncooked pastry).
