CLASS CALL OUT: Essentials of Epidemiology If there’s one class every life-long learner should take, it’s this one. A cornerstone of public health, epidemiology is the who, what, and where of disease. It’s the study of patterns and determinants of health outcomes.

MPH epidemiology student Mohammed Abed will be discussing his abstract, “Drug-resistant tuberculosis: A reflection on the development of contemporary treatment policy,” at APHA during a roundtable session focused on Pharmacy and Public Health Partnerships and Advocacy. CONGRATS!

MPH epidemiology student Sabrina Richards will giving an oral presentation of her abstract, “The role of the six building blocks in determining health outcomes and outputs: 152-country analysis,” at APHA.

MPH epidemiology student Samuel Saidu will be presenting his abstract, “The importance of healthcare system financing in improving maternal health outcomes: An analysis of 152 countries,” at APHA during Topics in Global Health - Poster Session 2. CONGRATS SAMUEL!

MPH community health science student Shraddha Adhikari will be presenting her abstract, “Evaluation of policy support for opioid mitigation in a midwestern state using best practice domains,” at APHA!

Last week was the APHA conference in Atlanta, Georgia. We had some of our students, faculty, and staff travel to attend the conference. Some of our students presented and did a fabulous job! It was a great experience and we were able to gather together to celebrate public health!

A big thank you goes out to all of you for supporting the PHA's holiday food drive! Together, we managed to donate 71 pounds of food to the Emergency Food Pantry in Fargo to aid families in our community. This is such a special event to give back to the community!
