📣THIS. No parking pass granted for Med students = daily parking fee for commuting Med students. Active/public transport is not a feasible option for everyone. Especially in Ottawa. Nor is living adjacent to 1 of 2 sites. Nearby cheaper parking? Minimal, allocated via lottery.

Between year 3&4 = 70 wks clin rotations - (6-8 wks rural + ~1-2 wks off) = 60 wks on site = 300d paid parking (underestimate) Total parking cost: 300d x $13.50/d = $4,050. Our tuition ~$27,000/yr (one of the ⬆️ in 🇨🇦) Parking = one of med school’s many financial constraints.

Being matched, for me, is probably more of a reflection of all the amazing people I've been fortunate enough to have in my life. An obvious, big thanks to my family, friends, and mentors, but I wouldn't be where I am without sport. 1/2

Can't thank Sarnia Sting and Owen Sound Attack for their support during my junior career, X-Men Hockey and McGill Men's Hockey for my university career, and Sydney Ice Dogs and uOttawa Men's Hockey | Hockey masculin for making my medical journey even more enjoyable.
