A very happy and blessed Easter from the chaplaincy team at Newcastle Hospitals

Today is Maundy Thursday. Chaplain Sam attended the Chrism Eucharist at Newcastle Cathedral with Bishop of Newcastle. She collected Holy Oils which will be used over the coming year in our hospitals. Holy Week & Easter reflections are being distributed & are available to collect ✝️

Palm crosses are available to collect for tomorrow in the Freeman Chapel and at the RVI in the Chapel and outside the level 2 and level 3 chaplaincy office. ✝️

This week’s lent reflection is available to collect now.

Wonderful to have so many members of the team together to present at the Governor Members Event on “planning for end of life” this afternoon. Great to be able to share about the work of the chaplaincy team and some great questions too.

Is that the sun I see in the sky? 🤔 It must because I spotted the sunshine poring into the Freeman Chapel this morning and lighting up the altar cloth.

Today is pancake day (nom), which means tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. The Chaplaincy Team is producing a series weekly of Lent reflections which you can collect from our offices at RVI and Freeman and which we can also deliver to the wards.

A happy and blessed Christmas to everyone celebrating at Newcastle Hospitals. Today Chaplains are on duty and continue to serve our hospital community; taking care of staff, visiting patients, distributing Holy Communion, supporting our Chapels of Rest and more🌟

Today we had the pleasure of visiting Eden Court for their Carol Service. We had a great time singing and hearing the story of Christmas. The residents and staff were in fine voice. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas. 🎄

Today we held a Christingle service for Free Spirits nursery in Freeman Chapel. We can’t share photos of the children but I can assure you they looked amazing in their costumes and sang so beautifully. There were lots of very proud parents/carers.

Today is the first Sunday of advent, an important day for Christian’s as they begin to prepare for Christmas. The chaplains are producing a weekly reflection which can be collected from our offices and chapels. This weeks reflection is by Sam on the Christmas Carol Silent Night
