The child care crisis is hurting communities across our state. This center in Wilkesboro faced closure, and the community worked together to keep their doors open and continue providing care. It shouldn’t be this hard. We need real solutions for communities across the state.

Today I joined the Lumbee Tribe for their annual legislative day to learn about their unique contributions to North Carolina’s culture. Thank you to Chairman Lowery and the whole Lumbee Tribe for having me!

Last night, I joined the Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute Board of Trustees, Watauga County Commissioners, and the Watauga County Board of Education to hear how they are working together to build a stronger community. It was wonderful to meet so many local leaders invested in their schools and community.

Investing in workforce development and solving the child care crisis are crucial to the future of our state. Today, I spoke to business and local leaders at Vision NWNC about my Future-Ready agenda and how we can work together to build a strong future for the High Country.

After Helene, graduates from Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute's Electrical Lineworker Institute got to work repairing power lines and getting the lights back on. It was wonderful to visit their facility and meet students and faculty to learn about their programs and thank them for their work!

I heard a lot about the view at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute’s Watauga Campus and had to come see it for myself!

Western Youth Network began when my dad, Governor Hunt, created a grant for youth mentoring programs 40 years ago. Today, WYN has helped countless students through their mentorship and after-school programs, and just broke ground on Watauga’s only youth center. Congratulations!

Today, we honor the brave North Carolinians and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom. Let us never forget their sacrifice. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

There’s nothing better than spending time with kids! Today, I stopped by Kid Appeal Learning Center in High Point as the second stop on my Future-Ready Child Care Tour, where I spoke with parents, educators, & children to hear how state government can better support them.

Today we held our third meeting of Governor Josh Stein’s Task Force on Child Care and Early Education, exploring challenges of how centers navigate tough budgets and licensing hurdles. It’s clear our child care centers need more support. We’re working on real solutions to help them.

It was such a joy to honor Senator Elizabeth Dole today — a true trailblazer who’s paved the way for so many women. Her lifelong dedication to service and to North Carolina is incredibly inspiring.
