Meanwhile, Governor Kathy Hochul is doing all she can to keep our subways inaccessible for decades to come. It’s shameful, cruel, and unbecoming of a leader tasked with supporting the nation’s largest transit system.

Two major bike lanes meet at Bedford and Flushing Avenues in South Williamsburg, where Flushing eventually turns into a protected part of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. But why does getting to that safer path have to be so dangerous?

I am so proud of our friends at Make McGuinness Safe who never gave up on a plan that ensures both the health & safety of the neighborhood. This road diet plan will definitely save lives and is now a case study for all others seeking street safety.

Friends we are so thrilled to announce that Mayor Eric Adams has heard us. Our community plan, the road diet, will be installed from Calyer to Meeker. Work has begun and @nyc_dot will be out and at it til end of year, removing 2 travel lanes south of Calyer to Meeker.

It’s usually impossible to know if a safety improvement would have prevented a horrific outcome, but we know what makes our streets safer, that delaying them puts New Yorkers at risk of being hurt and killed, and that the sooner we make these fixes, the safer our city will be.

.Mayor Eric Adams, no more excuses. Your administration, once again, broke its promise to open the South Outer Walkway of the Queensboro Bridge. Another day delayed is another day someone could get hurt. #MoreSpaceQBB, now.

A tiered approach to lifting parking mandates is a failed approach. This Council will be failing New Yorkers who so desperately need homes and dooming us to decades more of car dependency and climate disaster. Truly a failure of leadership if this is what we get.
