Nathan Ballingrud There is more medical horror here than I expected but that made it all the more surprising and terrifying. There are lunar landscapes and spiders; lost mafioso and secret cabals; candlelit underground crypts and decaying gods.

hardest thing for a writer is to admit that its just them and the page. yes there is 'industry' and etc but in the end its you and the page. its you and the silence of the page. its the hardest thing and is why so many of us spend so much time bitching about other shit.

Of all my stories, 'Skullpocket' gets the most polarized reaction from readers, at least as far as I'm aware. But it's one of my personal favorites.
And Evenson's story is absurdly good.

Today is the release day for Corey Farrenkopf's debut novel, LIVING IN CEMETERIES, a book seemingly written specifically to my tastes. Spooky, moving, whimsical, and smart. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
