I bought a new lobster boat yesterday, my dream rig. It was owned by a family for vacation season on Moosehead, never fished commercially, no after market add-ons, no hatches, no thru-hulls, no cracking or cobwebbing... Ideal. Bilge full of water. At least 1000lbs. Hooosssaaaa

New neighbors are going to take this down. I get it, young family, new house, someone probably told them a branch will come down and crush them inside their house. But this god is 200+yrs old and the sentinel of the neighborhood. We will all stand by and weep.

Black shell disease. It's here and only going to get worse. The infection can weaken a lobster but if they can shed they clear themselves of it. Strongly tied to warmer water and pesticide use. Long Island Sound lobster fishery was absolutely annihilated by it.

I've mentioned this before but they do this in NH inside Concord city limits and no one cares. I've grown up with cow manure, silage, etc, and this is not that. The smell is deathly and it wafts into the neighborhoods. Impossible to keep windows open. I hate it so much.

I was cutting holes in the plywood deck of my boat and I threw a piece into my lawn and left it there for a week. I picked it up yesterday and saw two small dots. I had to get the magnifying glass, SNAILS. It's difficult to describe how small (1mm) these guys were! The Wonder 🌍
