Data from the FENopta trial (fenebrutinib vs. placebo in relapsing MS) open label extension trial. Relapses remained low (annualized relapse rate of 0.04) and 90% with no evidence of disease activity. EDSS (disability) stable. Some had low antibodies. physiciansweekly.com/ms-activity-re…

Very rarely, methylprednisolone (solumedrol) used to treat multiple sclerosis can cause liver injury due to drug-induced autoimmune-like hepatitis (DI-ALH). This is a case series of 13 people with relapsing MS. Tapering steroid treatment usually helped pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40149973/

Must Stop MS! looking for help with the MS Hug that seems to trap my legs for two days a month. I don’t know how else to describe the pain. It wakes me up in the middle of the night and turns my days into bed rest. Any suggestions for relief?

This meta analysis of 9 randomized controlled trials of amantadine, sometimes used to treat fatigue in multiple sclerosis, is actually not effective. Perhaps it should be abandoned. index.mirasmart.com/AAN2025/PDFfil…

The use of highly-effective disease modifying therapy may be reducing health disparities in MS. Prior to 2015, black people with MS had higher rates of relapses compared to white people, but they have now equalized in this Southern California study. index.mirasmart.com/AAN2025/PDFfil…

Does head trauma cause MS? Maybe. In this meta-analysis from Egypt of electronic databases with 1,619,640 participants, those with prior head trauma had a 40% increased risk of MS (OR=1.4;95% CI=[1.23, 1.61]; P< 0.00001; I²=62%) index.mirasmart.com/AAN2025/PDFfil…

If a woman with MS accidentally becomes pregnant while taking kesimpta, will her baby be born immunosuppressed? Hopefully not. In this study of 11 such pregnancies, b-cell counts of the neonates were normal. index.mirasmart.com/AAN2025/PDFfil…

This updated analysis of randomized trials suggests vitamin D supplementation has a very small but real effect on reducing multiple sclerosis disability (p = 0.03) even thought most individual studies show no effect. eurjmedres.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…
