#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow : This is Alexander Nisbet Paterson’s superb patriotic doorcase for the National Bank of Scotland in St Enoch Square with its ‘In Patriam fidelis’ motto. The Thistle capitals in the bronze gates are a lovely touch. Such a shame this is lying empty 😢!

A mere two evenings later and normal service has resumed 👀👇☔️🤦‍♂️! Gotta love the #Glasgow weather which is why I remind people that we live in a temperate rain forest 😂👍!

#HiddenMoments in #Glasgow : a tweet yesterday about the India Buildings block reminded me of architect John Gordon’s hidden dome and wacky brickwork chimneys to the Savings Bank at 63-67 Bridge Street in Laurieston - not in great shape but a nice bit of Victorian ingenuity 👇🤗!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow : You’ve got to love the long spring days here. Look at the deep blue of the sky and the contrast with the sun warmed red and blonde sandstone buildings of Bell Street, the architecture of which is inspired by Chicago, Paris and Florence 🥰!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow : For Monday morning, this gorgeous deep cloudy blue stained glass motif in the leaded glass panes adorning the twin stairwells on Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Scotland Street School has a lovely painterly quality 🥰!

#MomentsOfBeauty in #Glasgow : Nice to be able to have a brief glimpse inside Hugh & David Barclay’s Abbotsford Place School of 1879. It still has its galleried atrium so have a look at the fretwork ventilator in the skylight with its William Morris-like pomegranate motif 👀👇🥰!

Bit late for #Caturday but we have just brought the kittens down to our boat so this is the first time Luna and Skyla have ventured into the outside world. Wee Poppy is keeping a watchful eye out on proceedings in case there’s any kitty naughtiness 🥰😺🐈!
