Not only does sowing a red clover & grass sward allow you to reduce N usage on farm, feeding red clover silage to livestock has the additional benefit of being a superior feed in terms of more protein being retained by the animal and therefore increasing performance 👌

Big increase in the number of acres sown down to multi-species in recent years, particularly for its reduced N requirement and improved drought tolerance.
The multi-species scheme has been given the green light for 2024 again so get your application in by May 15th.

Very exciting news: The UK government have funded the NUE-Leg project £3.3 m which will be led by Germinal and aims to significantly increase N fixation by clovers, with on farm research to rigorously test newly developed white & red clovers
