To answer this. At a superficial level a-vO2 difference has not changed so seems like no change in O2 extraction. But arterial O2 flow (QaO2) has doubled from 3 to 6 L/min. To maintain a-vO2 difference, peripheral O2 diffusion (DO2) has to actually double.
