Disability Talk With Steve Nimbus Disability it’s all over how you are participating in selecting who is and who’s not disabled. Well done, you are in partnership with an organisation that’s openly discriminating.

When children are on "high alert," hypervigilant, they have heightened amygdala activity, a brain & body searching for danger. This is not the time for questioning."Tell me what happened, why, what," as the cortex is not in connection & learning mode.🧠🌱

I would be interested to know if anyone - anyone at all - can identify an expert - any expert at all - who believes "anyone a bit shy and quiet is "neurodivergent." This appears to come from the same playbook as Nigel Farage's claim that autism is diagnosed "by GPs," "via zoom".

A quiet room doesn’t undo an hour of sensory hell in a queue. PDFs don’t prevent meltdowns. Planning guides aren’t reasonable adjustments. Access must work in real life. #DisabilityRebellion #DisabilityTwitter #DisabilityRights

As we approach Children’s Mental Health Week 9th-16th February. Before children can learn & flourish, their basic needs have to be met. When their needs have been met, attainment, attendance & well-being will improve.🧠🌱

Just a quick reminder REFORM wants rid of equality and diversity- and the Equality Act. Disabled people will have zero rights.

This is a great way to harm working parents, disabled people, single mothers, carers, and so many others for whom WFH has been such a lifesaver. This move is nothing but a power grab by those at the top. It’s anti-Working Class.

ADHD children are being denied access to their education until they seek medication. That is chemical restraint and it is normalised within our education system.

My campaigning work began in 1992 and the fight to get my SEND daughter support as a 4 year old entering school. I were ecstatic at the legal provisions we achieved in Part IV of the 1996 Education Act which set out legal definitions and duties regarding special educational

Reposting this powerful piece by Sophia A. Nelson “It shows how elite networks protect reputation, how institutions treat credible warnings as inconvenient, and how victims are isolated while power closes ranks.” That line should make any parent or anyone working with children

Why are parents struggling to secure #send support for their children? in 2019-2020 the Tribunal dealt with just under 8000 appeals. In 2024-25 it had over 25,000 appeals. Of those appeals, in 2019-2020 LA decisions were upheld 5% of the time. In 2024-25 it was 1.1% #sen

Masking is a huge issue in schools & it can go so unoticed before its too late, leading to emotional crashes. It may seem that everything is fine. Quiet, compliant, under the radar, but underneath, they are overwhelmed ,anxious & exhausted. At home, tears, frustration & panic.🧠🌱
