My schizoaffective disorder is very real & unrelated to trauma

I’m 1 of many ppl who have been in dangerous positions & extremely unwell due to *very real* destructive mental illnesses

It is frankly ignorant & gross to ignore all that lived experience to further your own grift

Just a reminder if you struggle with your mental health and have been seeing the discourse today around benefits today, your difficulties are real and they are valid. You aren’t less deserving of help because your problems are more inside your mind than they are in your body.

If this doesn’t put it in perspective for you, nothing will.

My lawd, Izzy’s extra terrible sleep is really catching up with me… so exhausted today & got to go to a play centre in half hour 😂🙈 thank goodness this sleep specialist person is coming out tomorrow (health visitor referred us) - no idea what to expect but I hope it helps!

this isn't applicable in every situation but i have found this is pretty helpful as an approach - it's focused more towards younger alters/parts but in general it's a helpful roadmap

for me personally a lot of online stuff about DID gets so bogged down by discussions about 'alters' that we end up entirely missing huge swathes of the dissociative experience. we experience a million things that aren't alters. discussing what they are exactly all day long is :/
