As Joanna BurtKinderman always says, “iron sharpens iron.” My day with madamimadam at Cabell Midland HS allowed me to do just that! Wow!!! Grateful to #M3T_wv, Kanawha County & Cabell County Schools for providing the opportunity to improve my practice to better support my students.

Thanks to M3T Mountaineer Mathematics Master Teachers, Gilmer County Schools , and Wirt County Schools I had the pleasure of observing Jessica Theys at WCMS yesterday. We had a great day talking all things middle school math and I had the chance to offer suggestions on some things she was asking for help with.

Tonight, 97 math teachers from 29 districts in WV chose to be on a 1.5 hour call sharing trials of researched changes to improve learning. They represent a community of over 150 teachers guiding 7000 students. These are the gifts that we give each other in M3T Mountaineer Mathematics Master Teachers

Instruction should not be based on extreme positions that students learn solely by internalizing what a teacher or book says or solely by inventing #mathematics on their own.
