Rolled out our yoga mats today in dance and learned yoga poses to help us stay calm and focus. We are ready to use our yoga menu in our calm down corner now! Love seeing our Hendley Elementary yogis in action!

Look at our Hendley Elementary kindergarten dancers working hard in dance to organize and identify locomotor and non-locomotor moves on our class chart. Love to see our students growing their brains and showing off their knowledge!

Here at Hendley Elementary supporting #RedforEd today! I'm wearing red to support Washington Teachers' Union, AFT Local #6 fight for a contract that DC Public Schools owes us! We've gone years without a contract. It's time to show us you care like we care for our students! #insolidarity #teachertwitter #ward8

2nd and 3rd graders Hendley Elementary are using their observation and ELA skills in dance this week. They watched a leaf fall, recorded the action words and next class, we’ll create leaf dances from these words! Love seeing a room full of kids working together!

In honor of Black History Month, we hosted a screening of a virtual Step Afrika! HQ performance for our students. Afterwards, our Hendley Elementary students discussed together what they observed using their dance and music vocabulary. Thank you Step Afrika for your amazing performances!

We had an amazing time today “Moving through Motown” with our Black History Committee! Our students had a wonderful time! We’re looking forward to part 2 this afternoon! Ms. K Gower Ms. Bain AP Shaw Demetrius Lucas
