How concepts help pupils to learn the curriculum

It turns out that if we identify the concepts aka big ideas and teach pupils these, then they are likely to know more, remember more and be able to do more, over time...

In the study students who received their grades at the same time as their feedback made almost no real improvement in a later assignment. Where students who received their feedback and then grades after a three-day delay performed 21% better.

Unexpectedly, the GCSE formula sheet has returned for the 2024 exam season. The consultation opened today and closes on 30th November. Our submission will support the proposal. You may wish to respond too. gov.uk/government/con…
