Another pupil making a fantastic meal, and to top it off he was taking it home to share with his family. Today we also got the opportunity to chat about his career aspirations and what short term goals he needs to set.. this is what nurture cooking is all about Inclusion&Wellbeing
Ready for another day of ‘fakeaway’ this morning our primary pupils will be cooking up a storm! Inclusion&Wellbeing
Well if this photo doesn’t convince you that the crispy shredded beef in an orange chilli sauce was good then I don’t know what will! What a great morning with our primary pupils! Inclusion&Wellbeing Miss Reilly
Our new ‘makes and bakes’ board is ready and I think some of our amazing cooking will appear on here very soon! Watch this space! Inclusion&Wellbeing
And the results are in from last week…. Current dish in the lead is……. Crispy chill beef! Inclusion&Wellbeing
Todays fakeaway instalment is …. Chicken chow mien. Yummmmm. Today we were speaking about budgeting and how much a chow mien from the takeaway costs in comparison to making it is… any guesses the price difference? Inclusion&Wellbeing
Our new makes and bakes wall has some amazing photos to show how successful we have been in the kitchen over the past 5 weeks Inclusion&Wellbeing
The chicken chow mein was such a success it didn’t even make it out of the kitchen for this young person. It was a delight to spend time with him this week, again discussing future plans and qualifications Inclusion&Wellbeing
Some serious concentration happening today, our knife skills in the kitchen are excellent for this transition class Inclusion&Wellbeing
This pupil is making good progress in his Nat 4 PE qualification. Paul Stones decided to come in and help with training today. A lovely afternoon of building positive relationships while working. What an action shot! Inclusion&Wellbeing
Guess what we are making this week? Inclusion&Wellbeing
This morning this primary class practiced throwing and catching, then did excellent listening and understanding for a new ‘Champions’ game. They were able to play by the rules, accept wins and loses and played cooperatively when needed. What an excellent morning! Inclusion&Wellbeing
This pupil made amazing waffles today, adding some pink to make sure they looked cool! During our time together we were able to discuss his school week, highs and lows, future aspirations and start thinking about how to plan. Nuture cooking gives pupils a safe space Inclusion&Wellbeing
We didn’t manage many pictures this week as we spent a lot of time in conversations about health and wellbeing. Spending this 1-1 time is vital for young people to have the space to voice their feelings, concerns and aspirations. Plus they made a chocolate dessert! Inclusion&Wellbeing
Our ‘fakeaway’ block has been a success! Pupil feedback has been excellent for these recipes and spending time 1-1 with each pupil has facilitated discussions on our health and wellbeing, future aspirations and planning for our future. I am so proud of these pupils. Inclusion&Wellbeing
One pupil today was so keen to make a meal and dessert they worked with efficiency and displayed excellent timekeeping to produce pizza and a traybake in one period. Organising ourselves, our time and our space is building essential life skills Inclusion&Wellbeing
