Day 2 was c’est manifique! The students enjoyed visits to Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupre Basilica, Traditional Huron Site - Onhoua Chetek8e, and Erabliere du Lac Beauport Sugar Shack! Neon and Bright Colours!

Today the Gr. 3’s worked collaboratively in math and presented their solutions! They worked together to calculate the Mean and identify the Mode in various sets of data! Awesome work 🔎💭 St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School

Students were so excited to start our new math unit in Geometric Reasoning! For lesson 1 we explored the different attributes between cubes and prisms comparing faces, vertices, and edges. In groups the students were challenged to create a Cube and a Prism their way! St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School

Today students connected our new Geometry unit in Math to Art and recreated Modern Artist Mark Rothko’s famous paintings! Exploring new concepts in our Geometric Reasoning math unit! Today we learnt all about nets and their corresponding 3D shapes! What better way to explore then by sorting nets and using real life examples of shapes we see in our everyday lives! #DPMath St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School

Today the Gr. 3s reviewed their learning of Geometric Reasoning with a Knowledgehook game show! As we near the end of the unit it’s a great way to review and identify any gaps that need to be covered before we wrap up and the students love it! St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School #DPMATH

The Gr3 Rockstars had an amazing FriYAY! We conducted a series of experiments exploring the different forces we have been learning in class, we studied electrostatic and magnetic forces! We then tied our Geometric Math into a virtual field trip and explored Pyramids! St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School

As we wrap up our Geometric Reasoning math unit, the students were able to use manipulatives to create specific 2D nets for various 3D shapes. Once we were done the class shared their findings of attributes such as number of vertices, edges, and faces! #DPMATH St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School

The Gr3s started their new Measurement unit today! We learnt all about standard units of measurement such as millimetres, centimetres meters and kilometres.
