Back by popular demand, it’s my week full adapting one unit! Which unit you ask?? Why it’s almost summer, it has to be ⚾️! I’ve recently discovered that large cones and small dodgeballs make for a wonderful beginner level batting practice!

Adapted Baseball Unit (#2/5). Do you have a student with limited mobility? This battery operated pitching machine pitches a ⚾️ by pushing a button on the bat. Put the machine on home plate and now it’s a hitting machine! Your Ss CAN hit the ball far too! shorturl.at/jnQ29

Adapted Baseball Unit (#3/5): Use anything you can in order to help students build on the standard of “striking with a long handled implement.” Check out this form of “keepy uppy” with a noodle and a finger light ball! This can be a station, warm-up, or even a lead-up game!

Adapted Baseball Unit (#4/5): Positioning students can be a headache. Let me introduce to you… duh dah da dahhh.. VISUALS! Simple additions of foot spots and the arrow can help students practice stepping and swinging independently!

Our Unified Field Day was amazing! Over 60 volunteers, 20 stations, two giant inflatables, a banner that says “I Choose to Include” that students sign, and 500 happy kids! What. A. Day!!! Special Olympics Minnesota

Adapted Baseball Unit (#5/5): This is for all you traveling #AdaptedPE peeps out there! You will likely find this hula hoop/hurdle sets w/ heavy dome cone holders or a medium cone in your equipment closet. You now have a lightweight traveling tee to use for the TGMD test and ⚾️!
