In a recent survey regarding why educators are quitting at a RECORD RATE, one teacher responded: "I work 55 hours a week, have 12 years' experience, and make $43,000. I worry and stress daily about my classroom prep work and kids. My health is being affected. I have to quit!”

Teacher Appreciation Week reminds me that we SHOULD appreciate teachers, but very obviously, don’t.

I'm just learning that there are multiple school districts around the country that do four-day weeks. Trainings & meetings on Friday. Probably virtual tutoring when it's needed. Someone explain to me why we all aren't doing this? As a teacher & a parent I love it.
