New study published in Diabetic Medicine shows that insulin is often managed unsafely during hospital admissions and discharges for people with #diabetes - due to staff shortages and low confidence in insulin use, with patients being left out of their own care. š„š


ā¼ļøThe study calls for key changes: involve patients in their care, support self-management of insulin in hospital, ensure staff are trained and confident, and put systems in place to prevent known safety risks during care transfers. Full text: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11ā¦
