Hello everyone! 🙂 This Twitter account is currently run by the Expanded Learning Coordinator at Mort. The Expanded Learning Coordinator coordinates Expanded Learning opportunities such as tutoring, mentoring, and afterschool enrichment activities!

Check out what's happening at HOST today! Ms. Sherry, our 3rd grade HOST instructor is teaching her group about money! She set up a store and provided "money" to the kids to help them develop their counting skills as well as their thinking skills!

We are so appreciative of our University of South Florida work study students. They are bringing fun, academic enrichment to our students in HOST on Mondays! Here they are preparing for a fun activity to engage the students on the first day of the T.E.A.M. Academic Enrichment Club.

The work study students unanimously decided to name the club, T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More) Academic Enrichment Club. They will focus on math as well as a few other subjects each Monday.

Team Victoria practicing! The students had to stack the cups without touching them. All they could use were four strings tied to a rubber band to stack the cups. The kids stated that they learned team work, communication, and patience.

The students in the HOST afterschool program enjoyed the fruits of their labor yesterday in Greater Bay Area Science Forum Cub Scouts! The students had been working on their cars for a couple of weeks. Yesterday, they got a chance to race them!

So much fun in Cub Scouts (Boy Scouts of Tampa Bay) and Soccer (Dynamic Futbol Academy) yesterday! We are always looking for fun and engaging expanded learning opportunities for our kids here at Mort.
