"Here then, O June, thy kindness will we take; And if indeed but pensive men we seem, What should we do? thou wouldst not have us wake From out the arms of this rare happy dream, And wish to leave the murmur of the stream” - William Morris, “June”, from The Earthly Paradise

Happy Birthday William Morris! To celebrate are three of his incredible sketches for stained glass windows. A true polymath, he was a poet, philosopher, designer of everything for the home, conservationist, artist and socialist activist among his many other passions.

🎂 May Morris was born on 25th March, 1862 at Red House in Bexleyheath. Not only are their birthdays a day apart but May inherited her Father's creative and entreprenurial side becoming a skilled teacher, lecturer, editor, jeweller, designer, and most of all embroiderer.
