Because Monash Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences has its origins in the late 1800s, we are lucky enough at the Archives to have some pharmacy related items that are over 150 years old! These prescription books, for example, are from 1863-1929, making them some of the oldest items in our collection.
Did you know Monash University used to have campuses at Berwick and Gippsland? Berwick campus was opened in 1996, while Gippsland was the Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education from 1968 until it merged with Monash in 1990. Both campuses are now part of Federation Uni.
Did you know that from the start there were plans for a hospital to be included on Clayton campus? When this didn't happen, students had to rely on distant hospitals, including the Queen Victoria Hospital. Monash's residence block is pictured here in 1964.
