Passed Oxbridge at 18 & went to visit Cambridge to study Geography. Stupidly, turned the place down & went to work instead. At 26 & with 2 children (3rd in yr 5) studied for my degree 6 years part time. Moral of the story - go to uni full time & have a great time 😊

Returning from the Asian Indoor Championships on a high with 24 medals in 21 events, achieved 13 new personal bests and set 6 new national records with one athlete just 0.6 seconds off a new Asian 2000m record.

I have to say that I have tears on my cheeks on watching Freddie Flintoff & his cricketing colleagues, sharing their love of the game with children from state schools. Frustrated that 8 out of 11 players in Team GB are privately educated - come on state schools let’s do this!

So this happened 1 year and 1 day ago - I deleted myself off of ‘my’ school website, handed in ‘my’ school keys & completed ‘my’ 26 year teaching career, with 17 of those years employed as a primary state school headteacher. What a career with every day a day for learning 🌟
