Take notes and make flashcards using markdown,
then study them using spaced repetition.

The new sync function reduces initial sync times by 6x. 14:00 → 2:20 minutes for my test database (10k cards / 500MB). Time can be reduced further by skipping attachments and downloading them later (not implemented yet). Want to help beta test? Send DM or email please!

File over app File over app is a philosophy: if you want to create digital artifacts that last, they must be files you can control, in formats that are easy to retrieve and read. Use tools that give you this freedom. File over app is an appeal to tool makers: accept that all

I don't think I mentioned it in the changelog, but the preferences window got a bit of a facelift. The old version was getting really loooong. This new version should make it a bit easier to find what you need. Next up is the Account settings window.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been working on overhauling a lot of the UI / interactions for mobile (especially iOS) to feel more intuitive / less janky and more native. First up I've updated a lot of the drop down menus to more closely match the native iOS pull-down menus.

I've also spent some time updating some of the modal windows to more closely match the system modal style on iOS. It might seem like a subtle difference, but these small interaction details really add up to making the app feel much better to use.

I really like how the new filters menu turned out. Not only is it usable now, but it's actually kind of fun to play around with.

Playing around a bit with the design around the swipe interaction. The goal is to make it more obvious what the action of swiping does. Still feels a bit too subtle though and doesn't really work when the top of the card is scrolled out of view.

Working on a new template field type that lets you execute custom scripts within a card. In this example I wrote a script that extracts all of the kanji characters from a field and adds references to other cards in a different deck that match those characters. To add some more

I'm just finishing up a big upgrade on how attachments are stored / synced. Looking for beta testers to help stress test, so if you're interested please shoot me an email or a DM!

In v1.18.0 I've added a simple import preview window so you can view information about the import before committing to importing it. In a future update I will also add the ability to preview cards in the import as well.

The long awaited dashboard update has arrived in v1.18.0! Lots of new data and options were added like being able to drill down into stats for individual decks.

I've been spending some time trying to reclaim UI space (especially on smaller windows). I'm not sure I'm totally sold on hiding the filter & search controls behind buttons, though.

When reviewing cards from notebook view, I think it would be helpful to be able to reveal additional context from surrounding cards.

Playing around with the UX in column view again. I think the way to go with this view is to just make it a straight up markdown note editor. Matching styles between edit and preview helps a lot with this I think. Does anyone use templates in column view?
