The coastal amplitudes of the #Taiwan tsunami yesterday (from an Mw 7.4 #earthquake ) was up to 82 cm according to Taiwan Central Weather Admin (see photo). This means tsunami #runup must have been up to around 3 m. This needs to be confirmed by #fieldwork in coming days.

Today's M7.4 #earthquake in #Taiwan generated a tsunami, reaching a height of 31 cm in Ishigakijima, Japan. While there are no available records along the coasts of Taiwan, we estimate a #tsunami height of 1-2 meters and a run-up of 2-3 meters in Taiwan.

Today's #tsunami in #Japan , triggered by an M7.5 earthquake, recorded a coastal height of 1.2 m in Toyama and 0.6 m in Sado. Potential tsunami #runup may reach 4-5 m. This event stands as one of Japan's largest tsunamis since the 2011 giant tsunami.
