The coastal amplitudes of the tsunami yesterday (from an Mw 7.4 ) was up to 82 cm according to Taiwan Central Weather Admin (see photo). This means tsunami must have been up to around 3 m. This needs to be confirmed by in coming days.

Today's M7.4 in generated a tsunami, reaching a height of 31 cm in Ishigakijima, Japan. While there are no available records along the coasts of Taiwan, we estimate a height of 1-2 meters and a run-up of 2-3 meters in Taiwan.
