There’s a chance I’ll be in Lagos, Nigeria for 2 weeks this July or August. I’m keen to meet builders behind product-led companies in AI, blockchain, and frontier tech for emerging markets. Would love to explore avenues to infuse expertise or capital. Pls tag such people or DM!

The US has more paper work than anywhere else I've lived (this is my fifth) – tax forms, 401k planning, health plans, DMV etc. While some of it is elective, if one is illiterate or doesn't like fine print, they'd likely have a hard time.

Gen Z founder says he is locked in and ready to keep shipping. Millennial responds by saying they should go outside to get feedback. "Locked in" was sending a different message.

Not very often that a technology creates a complete tectonic shift in the economy and everyday human life. And competition between the big players is pretty rife that I don't think there's a safe off ramp from the path we're headed.

Scale is one of the great things America offers ambitious people. Like California alone is ~6 times the population and size of Ireland and it's quicker to drive from Paris to Amsterdam than Palo Alto to LA (both in California). The sheer scale of America is absolute bonkers!

Lots of interesting problems in the AI infrastructure space. Axioms we've accepted about modern web infra are being challenged. For one, thinking models don't fit nicely into traditional performance rubrics due to among other things the high variance with cost of prompts.

One of the reasons why California has a crazy high gdp at $4 trillion (larger than all of Africa combined) is that folk here build technology with a quasi-religious fervour, it's almost unreal.

Economic power is overt whereas class distinctions are subtle and the latter from my experience is a bigger marker for success in certain spaces more than anything else.

If you scream "compute" at the top of your voice in SF, ten AI researchers will appear out of nowhere and offer to buy you coffee.
