Character Trait Headbands has been a huge hit with the #GoldenLearners while we review previous reading concepts! It has been fun to reflect on characters from earlier in the year and their traits. (And always fun to hear their laughter!) #MasonElementary

I loved starting my day at “Moment with a Difference Maker” at MMS with Isaac! Thank you, Mason Middle School and MSF for helping create these special moments for our kids (and us)!

What do I do when there is a one day gap between finishing state and MAP testing, and the start of the new unit? Invite my wonderful and hilarious haiku-writing husband in to teach our #GoldenLearners about haiku & help them write some. It is so fun to create poetry together!

The #GoldenLearners had a great field trip to Sharon Woods today! We learned so much about ways animals survive in their habitats!

Our family had the best day running the LOVE like JJ 5k yesterday! We ran, spent time with friends, teachers, and my students, got to meet Evan McPherson, AND got to hear about the amazing things the LOVE Like JJ Foundation is doing to love and serve our community. Awesome event!

Today was a perfect day for these Comets to read in the Mason Elementary Secret Garden!

Our team chose the name “Monster Learners” this year because they always give a monster-sized effort in their learning! Today was a “Monster Day” where they multiplied monsters, read about the Loch Ness Monster, and wrote descriptive paragraphs about monsters they created!

Our “Monster Learners” started our Mystery Reading Unit today! They are SO excited to look for clues with their magnifying glasses and make some predictions in their case files. Mystery books are such a fun way to keep developing our fiction skills! #MasonElementary

It was a Mystery Glow Day for the #MonsterLearners! We “illuminated” context clues and details in our stories to figure out sneaky meanings of words and sneaky suspects in our story. These reading detectives can solve any mystery! #MasonElementary

One of our sweet learners has been so thankful to our “recess teachers” for working hard in the cold to keep us safe. She suggested a “Warm Hearts” project for our class to write notes on hearts and give some hot hand warmers to them. We are so thankful for these amazing aides!
