A1 - The New York Stock Exchange had some fantastic PD opps for Ts. Can’t beat #ASCD Empower conferences either. I am partial to those self-designed PD experiences like ًFund for Teachers Went to a Harvard PD. Proud to be a #FundForTeacherFellow #FellowsatED

A2- Let Ts collaborate in designing the PD. Ya know best what format, topics, etc are best suited. Also, make Ts part of the PD. #FellowsatED

Maybe follow up with participants and keep the learning going through meaningful networks? Making those connections can be a game changer, Kyle Hamstra x.com/kylehamstra/st…

A5 - PD can’t be rigid. Must be organic& responsive... needs may change. Admin need PD, too. Lead by example, roll up sleeves and participate in PD. #lifelonglearning Find a way to compensate your bldg TLs for PD. You would compensate a consultant. #FellowsatED x.com/usedgov/status…

A6- Allow more non-traditional PD opps to count towards CE credits/units. Most Ts and As I know do much more professional learning than required but never considered. We’re all here tonight to grow and this is valuable PD. #FellowsAtEd #outsidethebox x.com/usedgov/status…

As Teacher Appreciation week ends, understand we have a teacher shortage because we have an attrition crisis. Teachers are leaving in droves because they don’t feel supported, valued, & they are simply burnt out. We need to take care of our teachers more than one week a year.

Teaching is not a job for those who don’t love kids. Administration is not a job for those who don’t love teachers. And you can’t fake it.

Monday #JacketJumpstart... Effective leadership is often found in the everyday acts of people who take responsibility for sparking excellence in our school community. Teacher, student, parent: Will YOU be that leader this week? Will you be the #StarkvilleSpark?

The U.S. ranks 23rd in reading, 25th in science, and 40th in math. Two out of three of our 4th graders can’t read at grade level. We are sending far too many students out in the world unprepared. We can and must do better.
