Something I will forever love about teaching 1st grade is the constant excitement over the seemingly smallest things - making shadows, getting to explore a flashlight, candy hearts, valentines…just so much joy 💚 pausing to remember what it’s like to see life through their eyes!

One of our classmates taught us all about Ramadan, which starts today! We read a book about Ramadan and learned about important parts of the month ahead. Thank you to our friend for sharing with us, and Ramadan Mubarak to our families who recognize this time! 🤗💙 #NoviPride

A special guest came to visit our class today - my mom!! 😍 We share a passion for education & teaching, & I felt so lucky she got to spend time with our class! Clearly they loved her just as much as I do 😂

We got to learn about and see some pretty egg-citing things today on our field trip to Tollgate Farm!! 🤩 I love getting to experience these times with students! The knowledge we gained will be so helpful as we work to hatch and care for our own chicks 🐣 #NoviPride

We have been doing tons of fun things in first grade this week!! ☀️ Playing with our newly hatched chicks, solving math problems in shaving cream, reading outside, & working in our garden 🤩 I can’t believe we only have 7 more school days together! #NoviPride

We got to visit the Japanese School of Detroit this morning to see our students learning, & for us to learn more about their culture & school! 💚 🇯🇵 Our partnership with the community is so important, thank you for providing us with this opportunity! #NoviPride

Students had so much fun learning about animals & seeing them up close!! 🤩 We’re researching about animals for our informational writing & made many connections 💭 what an awesome experience, thank you to our Parkview PTO! #NoviPride

Egg-citing news…3 chicks hatched during school today!! 🐣 It is amazing to see all of our learning about chicks and their development come to life! We can’t wait to see more hatch and learn about how to take care of them after hatching 💚 #NoviPride
