The heart of every school and classroom community is interaction. It is important that we nurture positive relationships within the classroom and teach students the skills for creating, maintaining, and repairing relationships through respectful interactions.

When responding to misbehavior, one of the goals is to help students recognize their misbehavior and replace it with a desired behavior. This helps them to internalize the rules, take responsibility for their actions, and develop self-regulation skills.
